In 2020/21, COVID-19 and the resulting lockdowns brought the aviation industry to a virtual standstill. This airplane fragment dreams of reaching the runway and taking to the skies, but has been stationary for so long it has become one with nature.

Humans soared high in the sky, closer and closer to the sun, like angels circling the heavens until the pandemic brought us back down to earth. Far from being godlike, the virus has reminded us of our innate mortality. Here a fragment of an airplane leans propped up against a wall. The windows hold faded memories of distant sunsets and faraway places.
The Heavens Series’ seeks to capture the sense of infinity and serenity we glimpse when looking out of aeroplane windows like angels from above. All SOLD
